Parish Bulletin
All Good! God has it.
Exactly what we need to hear in times of stress and uncertainty! (Matt10:26-33). Present and future are as clouded as they have ever been and even the past seems to be subject to reinterpretation! Comfortable pillars like rewards for hard work, guaranteed employment, health protection and physical security are crumbling. Confidence in law makers and law enforcers, spiritual and church leaders is wobbly.
Naturally we worry about day to day issues and circumstances. We’re human. Not to be concerned, perhaps even fearful, would be abnormal and we do need to take steps to respond to new issues and circumstances. But Jesus encourages us to lift our eyes beyond the disturbing present uncertainties. In the face of perplexing challenges our Christianity comes to the fore. Declaring for Him, living discipleship, “proclaiming from the housetops,” is how we respond. God gives us choice for or against his Kingdom values of justice, mercy and forgiveness.
Do we work to limit the spread of coronavirus, graciously accepting weeks of inconvenience for the good of all? Do we scramble, hoard and focus on ourselves instead of the poor and vulnerable in our midst who are suffering and at greater risk than ever? Do we with relatively minor hassles generously support those without food or a safe place to live or rest?
All creation is precious to God and humans of inestimable value (Matt 10:29-30). Are we active in proclaiming and defending the preciousness of all humanity even if we ourselves are endangered? Do we strive to uphold the dignity and worth of all? To ensure work, shelter, health, education and opportunity for all both now and into the future.
With our eyes lifted to the Kingdom then we needn’t stress about what we don’t know or about threats from outside. God has it all in hand.

On behalf of St. Vincent de Paul Society, St.Ita’s Conference Drouin, THANK St. Ita’s & St. Ignatius’ Parishes most sincerely for their generous support over the years and without your generosity we would not be able to help those in need. It is time for our Annual Winter Appeal. We are inspired by the Holy Spirit to care for others as Jesus did and through the Holy Spirit we are given the power to make a difference and so we are asking you to be generous in supporting us in winter 2020. Particularly in these changed times the need will be greater than ever because of job loss and financial stress due to the Coronavirus. If you are able to contribute to the Winter Appeal, then please donate by using the St. Vincent De Paul Society Web vinnies.org.au or calling 131812. Please mark your donations to be used by St. Ita’s Conference, Drouin and that will guarantee your Donation will be used to assist those in need in Drouin, Longwarry & Neerim South Communities.
