ST ITA’S COVID -19 AUDIT

Yesterday our school participated in an extensive Covid -19 audit set up by the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited (DOSCEL) in conjunction with the Victorian Department of Health.

The IPCON team (Infection Prevention and Control Outreach Nursing) who attended our school are a division within the Victorian Department of Health, comprising highly experienced Infection Control Nurses and Consultants, who have already performed thousands of visits to assist facilities within both outbreak and prevention settings.

The site visit and audit took approx. 3 hours and involved the IPCON team working through the COVID Safe Assurance checklist with our Leadership team.

The audit was a really affirming process and showed that:

• St Ita’s staff did an outstanding job supporting and teaching students during remote learning;
• We are well organised in relation to making St Ita's as safe as we can be during Covid -19;
• That our processes and policies are all up to date and in line with DOSCEL and the Department of Health expectations.

The efforts of all in our community have been nothing short of outstanding and we will continue to work together to keep everyone safe at St Ita's.

GASTRO IN OUR SCHOOL

Over the last few weeks, we have had several children presenting to school with Gastro / Cold like symptoms. We have also noticed a significant increase in children coming to sickbay distressed and unwell.

If your child is displaying any of the symptoms associated with Gastro or Cold and Flu please do not send them to school until all symptoms have cleared.

PRINCIPAL LONG SERVICE LEAVE
